The Sound Fix Launch!
The 25/09/25 see's the launch of our new Sound Fix Live Clinic with Si Gordon and friends, a monthly drop-in session for music producers of all levels. For 1 hour it’s your chance to ask anything about composing, recording, arranging, sound design, mixing, mastering, and production workflow. Get your problems solved live, meet other passionate producers, and discover how the Black & Gold Audio Academy can also take your skills to the next level. It's FREE, it's every last Thursday of the month at 6pm (BST/GMT) and will be streamed live on our Youtube channel.

Music Tech Ensemble - Y1 Live!
Our under-16 Music Tech in Performance ensemble has had an incredible first year, coming together as a brand-new group to write, rehearse, and perform original music to an exceptional standard.
Their journey culminated in a standout performance at the prestigious Music for Youth finals at Birmingham Symphony Hall, a testament to their talent, teamwork, and hard work. Just days before, they also took to the stage at a sold-out Hall for Cornwall, holding their own alongside more seasoned acts.
Their achievements this year mark the beginning of something truly special that you too can be involved in if you are in Cornwall and between the ages of 13 - 16 year.... GET INVOLVED HERE!!​

The Gong - NI Kontakt Instrument
We have been busy developing a brand-new NI Kontakt instrument called The Gong, built from a unique recording session with a skilled gong player and their healing gong.
​
We captured a range of tones, strikes, and resonances, then took things further by processing the recordings through guitar pedals and modular synths to create rich, atmospheric textures.
After careful editing and programming, these sounds have been brought to life in a custom designed Kontakt GUI. The Gong is now available — completely free over on our 'Sampl'd page for anyone looking to add deep, organic, and otherworldly sonic layers to their music.​​

Fern Britton Voiceover Session
We have just completed a VO recording session with Fern Britton for Channel 5 through Boom TV & Gorilla TV post production, the 4 part series entitled 'Summer In The Isles of Scilly' will be landing at some point in 2025. Fern has such a wonderful narration voice, we could listen to her all day long and she was a pleasure to work with, as we're the post production crew :)

B&G Audio Academy Launch!
We have just launched our online education academy after a year of hard work building content and creating a rather special site attached to this one. We are really proud of the achievement and can't wait to start taking students onto our programs, and there are some amazing offers to choose from.. ASONE Live Launched..
Simon is now a co-director of the new Asone Live company, a subsidiary of Asone Perform and HUB which will look to being 16 + industry training and mentorships for those wanting to gain qualifications and merits in the Live Event Production, Film & Sound production industries.
In the last two weeks he has been involved in a pilot project for students based on event performance, music and sound production. This is an exciting period of development for the whole ASONE project based at St Merryn Airfields in Cornwall and he is extremely proud to be part of this new venture for young people in the South West of England.

Student Celebrations 2024/25

This year’s cohort of Music & Sound Production students across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 has achieved outstanding success, with all 42 learners completing the academic year.
Their dedication, creativity, and growth have been evident across projects, performances, and technical development, reflecting the strength of our curriculum and teaching team. We’re proud of every student’s progress and achievements, and with nearly all places filled for September, we look forward to welcoming the next wave of talent to build on this year’s momentum.

Hungry Tomato Audiobooks
We have just been commissioned by Hungry Tomato Publishing to record VO's, sound effects and musical elements for a series of children's books.
​
We are really excited about this project as the educational books are extremely well written, illustrated and distributed in analogue form worldwide and can be found in all good bookstores. The books will convert to audio very well and we can't wait to share some of the work with you in the future as and when it all rolls out.

New Kontakt 7+ Instrument for Sampl'd!
A new one from us! We have just built a new FREE sampler instrument for your use in composition entitled RezzoPot which came to life as part of an experiment and review of harmonics in everyday items that we may consider turning into 'sampler instruments' The Instrument itself can be bass, a percussive instrument, a lead, a bell, a pad and so much more.. enjoy :)

Expressive E in the Studio.. YES!
We are so very excited about our new addition to the main composition studio, we now have an 'Osmose' on site... and WOW! It is a revolutionary synthesizer that transforms traditional keyboard playing through its innovative keybed, where each key responds to pressure, vertical, and lateral movements. This allows for highly expressive control, enabling real-time vibrato, pitch bends, and dynamic sound shaping directly from the keys.

Term 1 Complete for our new students...
Our current qualification course students have just finished their first term and are now about to enjoy a well deserved break for Christmas! We have around 35 students studying at 2 of our satellite sites in Cornwall, they are learning all things Music and sound recording / production and engineering and we are quite proud at how well they are progressing right now and can see Term 2 & 3 producing some amazing projects... Asone HuB Conference
On Tuesday 19th November we'll be carrying out a workshop at the annual conference for primary and secondary teachers within Cornwall. We are so pleased to be part of this amazing event once again and can't wait to see everyone. Simon will be delivering a 50 minute session on some current software and hardware tools that enable engagement in KS1+ music technology sessions, this will be an exciting session so please book your place at the conference ASAP.. a full list of workshops can be found here:
