Brand new Synthesis course now 'LIVE' on our Academy..
We're thrilled to announce the official launch of our brand new course, Synthesis in Music & Sound Production! The Sound Fix Launch!
The 25/09/25 see's the launch of our new Sound Fix Live Clinic with Si Gordon and friends, a monthly drop-in session for music producers of all levels. For 1 hour it’s your chance to ask anything about composing, recording, arranging, sound design, mixing, mastering, and production workflow. Get your problems solved live, meet other passionate producers, and discover how the Black & Gold Audio Academy can also take your skills to the next level. It's FREE, it's every last Thursday of the month at 6pm (BST/GMT) and will be streamed live on our Youtube channel.

Music Tech Ensemble - Y1 Live!
Our under-16 Music Tech in Performance ensemble has had an incredible first year, coming together as a brand-new group to write, rehearse, and perform original music to an exceptional standard.
Their journey culminated in a standout performance at the prestigious Music for Youth finals at Birmingham Symphony Hall, a testament to their talent, teamwork, and hard work. Just days before, they also took to the stage at a sold-out Hall for Cornwall, holding their own alongside more seasoned acts.
Their achievements this year mark the beginning of something truly special that you too can be involved in if you are in Cornwall and between the ages of 13 - 16 year.... GET INVOLVED HERE!!​

The Gong - NI Kontakt Instrument
We have been busy developing a brand-new NI Kontakt instrument called The Gong, built from a unique recording session with a skilled gong player and their healing gong.
​
We captured a range of tones, strikes, and resonances, then took things further by processing the recordings through guitar pedals and modular synths to create rich, atmospheric textures.
After careful editing and programming, these sounds have been brought to life in a custom designed Kontakt GUI. The Gong is now available — completely free over on our 'Sampl'd page for anyone looking to add deep, organic, and otherworldly sonic layers to their music.​​

ASONE Live Launched..
Simon is now a co-director of the new Asone Live company, a subsidiary of Asone Perform and HUB which will look to being 16 + industry training and mentorships for those wanting to gain qualifications and merits in the Live Event Production, Film & Sound production industries.
In the last two weeks he has been involved in a pilot project for students based on event performance, music and sound production. This is an exciting period of development for the whole ASONE project based at St Merryn Airfields in Cornwall and he is extremely proud to be part of this new venture for young people in the South West of England.

Student Celebrations 2024/25

This year’s cohort of Music & Sound Production students across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 has achieved outstanding success, with all 42 learners completing the academic year.
Their dedication, creativity, and growth have been evident across projects, performances, and technical development, reflecting the strength of our curriculum and teaching team. We’re proud of every student’s progress and achievements, and with nearly all places filled for September, we look forward to welcoming the next wave of talent to build on this year’s momentum.

Fern Britton Voiceover Session
We have just completed a VO recording session with Fern Britton for Channel 5 through Boom TV & Gorilla TV post production, the 4 part series entitled 'Summer In The Isles of Scilly' will be landing at some point in 2025. Fern has such a wonderful narration voice, we could listen to her all day long and she was a pleasure to work with, as we're the post production crew :)
